Baseball Recap: Tug Valley Takes a Loss

Tug Valley dropped to 11-13 on Thursday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins at home. They lost 14-3 to the St. Joseph Central Irish. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Panthers have suffered since April 10th.

Tug Valley saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gage Whitt, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI. Gavin Fitzpatrick was another, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run.

As for St. Joseph Central, their victory was their tenth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 23-2. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games.

On St. Joseph Central's side, Mason Watts was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. That's the most hits Watts has posted since back in May of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Hudson Moosavi, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Tug Valley didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 9-0 loss against Sherman on the 2nd. As for St. Joseph Central, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 5-0 victory against Greater Beckley Christian on the 2nd.
