Baseball Recap: Victoria East Now 11-1 over Last 12 Games

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Victoria East walked away with it. They came out on top against the Milby Buffs on Thursday by a score of 4-2 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). This was a revenge game for the Titans: when they faced off against the Buffs on Thursday, they had to take a 4-2 loss.

Jaiden Salas spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on six hits.

At the plate, Kason Kolle was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Jazz Huff was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Victoria East has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 29-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Milby, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 20-8.

Victoria East will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Buffs: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
