Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Tom Bean walked away with it. They blew past the Alvord Bulldogs 11-1 on Thursday. Considering the Tomcats have won 19 matchups by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Keaton Reed was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in ten consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Cash Linder was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Donnie Hooten was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Tom Bean was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. The last time their batting average was this high was back in March.

The win was the fourth in a row for Tom Bean, bringing their record up to 25-8. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 6.8 runs. As for Alvord, their defeat dropped their record down to 20-8.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Tom Bean beat the Bulldogs by a score of 11-0 later that day.
