The Sage Hill Lightning will take on the Rosary Academy Royals at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Sage Hill's defense has only allowed 14.1 points per game this season, so Rosary Academy's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Sage Hill's offense might be in the hot seat on Monday considering what happened against Portola on Wednesday. They were outmatched by the Bulldogs and fell 44-0. While losing is never fun, the Lightning can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California flag football rankings (they are ranked 340th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 51st).

Meanwhile, Rosary Academy came into Wednesday's contest having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They won a matchup that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by Laguna Beach 14-13. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Royals have posted since September 13th.

Rosary Academy's win came from a few key players Sage Hill will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Sophie Lickl, who picked up 107 receiving yards and one TD. She showed off some serious burst, lighting up the secondary with a catch for 65 yards.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Rosary Academy's defense and their four sacks. In fact, those sacks all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Sofia Prieto.

Rosary Academy's win bumped their record up to 6-17. As for Sage Hill, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season.
