Basketball Recap: Burlington City Takes a Loss

Burlington City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. The contest between them and the Burlington Township Falcons didn't end well, with the Burlington City Blue Devils falling 70-53. If the Blue Devils were looking for revenge after losing 74-49 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Burlington Township's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Quayd Hendryx led the charge by going 8 of 13 en route to 18 points and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Baron Davis, who went 8 for 18 on his way to 16 points along with five assists and five boards.

Burlington City now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Burlington Township, they pushed their record up to 9-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home.

Burlington City has already played their next match (against Florence Township Memorial), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Burlington Township will host Pemberton at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Burlington Township knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six games -- so hopefully Pemberton likes a good challenge.
