Basketball Game Preview: Antwerp Archers vs. Crestview Knights

The Antwerp Archers just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Crestview Knights at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.

On Friday, Antwerp was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 55-51 to Tinora. While losing is never fun, the Archers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 634th, while the Rams are ranked 137th).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Crestview). They breezed by Ottoville to the tune of 70-30 last Friday. The victory was familiar territory for the Knights who have now won five contests in a row.

Crestview has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.1 points per game. As for Antwerp, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.

Antwerp didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Crestview in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, but they still walked away with a 48-43 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Antwerp since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
