Basketball Recap: Kit Carson Wildcats vs. Idalia Wolves
The Kit Carson Wildcats struggled with assists on Saturday (the Idalia Wolves had seven more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Kit Carson took a serious blow against the Wolves, falling 78-44. Kit Carson was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-24.
Kit Carson's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brennan Framel, who scored 12 points along with three blocks. It was the first time this season that Framel posted two or more blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Josiah Irwin, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds.
Idalia's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tarek Glanz led the charge by scoring 21 points along with seven assists and three steals. Kale Morris was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with seven steals and five rebounds.
Kit Carson has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season. As for Idalia, the win (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 12-3.
Kit Carson will head out on the road to face off against the Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Evangel Christian Academy is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak. As for Idalia, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Buffaloes at 4:00 p.m.
