Football Recap: Currituck County Starts Season with Loss at Home + How To Watch

Currituck County unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost to the Norfolk Academy Bulldogs at home by a 37-20 margin on Friday. The defeat continues a trend for the Knights in their meetings with the Bulldogs: they've now lost three in a row.

Despite the loss, Currituck County still got an impressive performance from Jamie Dance, who threw for 188 yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 78 yards and one score on only seven carries. A healthy portion of Dance's aerial production (97 yards to be exact) went to Luka Britt, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Looking ahead, Currituck County will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Deep Creek at 7:00 p.m. As for Norfolk Academy, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Hampton Roads Academy at 7:00 p.m. on September 5.
