Basketball Recap: Mt. Zion Comes Up Short

Mt. Zion was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the LaGrange Grangers, falling 68-48. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 552nd, while the Grangers are ranked 243rd).

Mt. Zion's defeat dropped their record down to 0-9. As for LaGrange, their victory bumped their record up to 7-2.

Mt. Zion will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Temple at 4:30 p.m. on January 3, 2026. As for LaGrange, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, an 83-80 defeat against Villa Rica on the 20th.
