Newton South is 9-1 against Cambridge Rindge & Latin since October of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Lions will host the Falcons at 5:45 p.m. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

It was a proper cat-fight when Newton South duked it out with Franklin on Friday. The Lions came up short against the Panthers, falling 3-0. The Lions haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Newton South was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the third set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-14, 25-23.

Meanwhile, Cambridge Rindge & Latin lost 3-0 to Somerville on Thursday.

Cambridge Rindge & Latin's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Newton South, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.

Newton South skirted past Cambridge Rindge & Latin 3-2 in their previous meeting back in September of 2024. Do the Lions have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Falcons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
