Football Recap: Garber Continues Road Dominance on Friday

Garber won against Canton last Friday with 48 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. The Wolverines were the clear victors by a 48-22 margin over the Drumright Tornadoes. The Wolverines have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Tornadoes, too.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Garber to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cord Southwick, who rushed for 185 yards and three TDs on only ten carries. Those 185 rushing yards gave Southwick a new career-high. Another passer making a difference was Aiden Johnson, who threw for 307 yards and four touchdowns on only 19 passes.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Garber was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 242 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 161 rushing yards in five consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Garber pushed their record up to 2-0 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. The team's perfect season has a lot to do with their offensive performance: the team's won by an average of 31.2 points thus far. As for Drumright, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Garber will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Cherokee at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Drumright, they will host Quinton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
