Basketball Preview: Lebanon Yellowjackets vs. Kickapoo Chiefs
Lebanon is 0-10 against Kickapoo since January of 2016 but things could change on Friday. The Lebanon Yellowjackets will be playing in front of their home fans against the Kickapoo Chiefs at 6:00 p.m.
Lebanon is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Monday. They took a 63-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of Waynesville.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Madison Myers, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and 13 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Mackenzie Perryman, who went 6-for-14 on her way to 14 points and five rebounds.
Republic typically has all the answers at home, but on Monday Kickapoo proved too difficult a challenge. They walked away with a 44-36 win over the Tigers. The 44-point effort marked the Chiefs' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.
Kickapoo has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season. As for Lebanon, their loss dropped their record down to 9-14.
Lebanon was taken down by Kickapoo 78-40 when the teams last played back in February of 2024. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Lebanon was down 40-18.
