Football Recap: Darnell Burrus and Caleb Bobo Lead the Defense for Carver Vo-Tech Win

While Carver Vo-Tech put up some points on Friday, the same can't be said for Green Street Academy. The Bears took down the Chargers 18-0. For the Bears, this counts as revenge for the 14-2 win the Chargers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.

Carver Vo-Tech didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Darnell Burrus and Caleb Bobo. Burrus is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made seven or more in each of the last four games he's played. Carver Vo-Tech got some further help from Elijah Jones: he picked up a sack and made eight total tackles (2.0 for loss).

The victory made it two in a row for Carver Vo-Tech and bumps their season record up to 2-3. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 8 points in those games. As for Green Street Academy, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-2.

Carver Vo-Tech wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 41-14 victory against Edmondson-Westside on the 9th. As for Green Street Academy, they have also already played their next contest, a 26-0 win against Benjamin Franklin on the 10th.
