Basketball Recap: Model Takes a Loss

If Model was feeling good fresh off their 60-36 takedown of Owsley County last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Model Patriots took a 63-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Frankfort Panthers on Saturday. The loss continues a trend for the Patriots in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now lost five in a row.

Model's defeat dropped their record down to 15-13. As for Frankfort, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season.

Coming up, Model will face off against Barbourville at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Model's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five contests. As for Frankfort, they will take on Wolfe County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Wolfe County knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Frankfort likes a good challenge.
