Basketball Recap: McDonogh Takes a Loss

After flying high against John Carroll last Friday, McDonogh came back down to earth. The Eagles were beaten by the Loyola Academy Ramblers 58-27 on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Eagles have suffered since December 30, 2024.

McDonogh's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Loyola Academy, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.

Looking ahead, McDonogh won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Prospect at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday. The Eagles' defense better be ready for this one: the Knights have averaged an impressive 55.8 points per game this season. As for Loyola Academy, they will challenge Providence Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Ramblers will need to watch out since the Celtics have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
