Staunton River had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.1 runs) and they went ahead and made it nine on Friday. They never let the Fleming Colonels get on the board and left with a 14-0 victory. Considering the Golden Eagles have won seven matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Kailynne Keister, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Ava Overstreet was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.

Staunton River always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .758. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Staunton River's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Fleming, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-10.
