Poca and James Monroe squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Poca had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Mavericks by a score of 3-2. The Dots' loss signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Sophia Bailey paced Poca's offense, picking up 25 kills. Bailey got some help from Abby Barnett and her 33 assists. Bailey also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Christiana Childers, each putting up two.

Poca's defeat dropped their record down to 35-6-5. As for James Monroe, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 36-10-3 record this season.

Poca does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for James Monroe, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 loss against Oak Glen on the 12th.
