The Ocoee Knights will take on the Lake Buena Vista Vipers in a tournament on Wednesday. Ocoee is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.6 runs per game this season.

Ocoee had been on a three-game streak of scoring at least ten runs, but Windermere put an end to it on Monday. The Knights fell 6-1 to the Wolverines. The Knights' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Amber Vance spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Trista Fitzpatrick made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run. That home run was her first of the season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lake Buena Vista). They came out on top against Wildwood by a score of 26-23 on Tuesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Vipers considering their two-run performance the match before.

Julianys Vega was a standout: she scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in five of her six plate appearances. Jacinda Holloway was another key player, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4.

Lake Buena Vista always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .679. They are 8-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Ocoee's defeat dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Lake Buena Vista, they now have a winning record of 8-7.

Lake Buena Vista's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Ocoee has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.1 hits per game. It's a different story for Lake Buena Vista, though, as they've been averaging 9.4 hits. Given Ocoee's sizable advantage in that area, the Vipers will need to find a way to close that gap.
