Soccer Game Preview: Hidden Valley vs. Brookings-Harbor

The Hidden Valley Mustangs are taking a road trip to square off against the Brookings-Harbor Bruins at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Hidden Valley's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

On Thursday, Hidden Valley didn't have quite enough to beat Henley and fell 2-1. While losing is never fun, Hidden Valley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oregon soccer rankings (they are ranked 89th, while Henley are ranked 32nd).

Meanwhile, Brookings-Harbor kept a clean sheet against Sutherlin on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 5-0 margin over the Bulldogs. Considering Brookings-Harbor have won 11 matchups by more than two goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

The victory made it two in a row for Brookings-Harbor and bumps their season record up to 12-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 13 goals over those two matches. As for Hidden Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5-1.

Hidden Valley took their victory against Brookings-Harbor in their previous matchup back in September of 2017 by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
