Soccer Game Preview: Gulf Coast vs. American Heritage

Gulf Coast hasn't had much luck against American Heritage recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Gulf Coast Sharks are taking a road trip to take on the American Heritage Patriots at 12:00 p.m.

Gulf Coast is headed into Saturday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their eighth straight game on Thursday. They came up short against Riverdale, falling 3-0.

Meanwhile, the Patriots entered their tilt with the Stallions on Thursday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They never let the Stallions onto the board and left with an 8-0 victory. The Patriots' defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last three games.

Their offense was hitting the Stallions from everywhere, as seven different players booted in a goal. ALLISON ALEMAN led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

The Patriots' win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 21 goals over those three contests. As for Gulf Coast, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-13-1.

Gulf Coast suffered a grim 6-0 defeat to American Heritage when the teams last played back in January of 2024. Can Gulf Coast avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
