Lafayette put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They strolled past the St. Martinville Tigers with points to spare, taking the game 65-49. Given the Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 19th, while the Tigers are ranked 221st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Despite the loss, St. Martinville still got an impressive performance from Makharee Narcisse, who posted 17 points and six boards. Another player making a difference was Kristian Batiste, who had nine points.

Lafayette's win bumped their record up to 9-0. As for St. Martinville, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.

Lafayette and A.J. Ellender will round out the year against one another at at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for St. Martinville, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Northside at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.
