Preview: Los Fresnos Falcons vs. San Benito Greyhounds

Los Fresnos is 1-8 against San Benito since October of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Los Fresnos Falcons will look to defend their home field against the San Benito Greyhounds at 7:00 p.m. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Los Fresnos can now show off five landslide victories after their most recent game on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 31-0 win over Hanna on the road.

Los Fresnos' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Robert Pineda, who rushed for 25 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 167 yards and a touchdown. The team also got some help courtesy of Gael Palestina, who gained 157 total yards.

Meanwhile, San Benito put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 21-10 victory over Harlingen.

Fabian Garcia was his usual excellent self, rushing for 274 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.6 yards per carry. Garcia was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 53 yards.

Los Fresnos has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. As for San Benito, their win was their tenth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 8-0.

Los Fresnos was taken down by San Benito 36-7 when the teams last played back in October of 2022. Will Los Fresnos have more luck at home instead of on the road?
