Baseball Game Preview: Covington-Douglas Wildcats vs. Garber Wolverines

Covington-Douglas is 2-8 against Garber since March of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Wildcats will look to defend their home field against the Wolverines at 5:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Covington-Douglas lost 15-7 to Oklahoma Bible on Friday.

Meanwhile, Garber was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-6 heartbreaker at the hands of Timberlake.

Rhett Stingley was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Kennon Sharp, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Covington-Douglas' defeat dropped their record down to 11-5. As for Garber, they now have a losing record of 8-9.

Covington-Douglas took their victory against Garber in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 9-2 score. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Wolverines have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
