Baseball Game Preview: Pendleton County Wildcat vs. Bath County Chargers

Pendleton County is on a four-game streak of home losses, and Bath County a three-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Wednesday. The Pendleton County Wildcat will be playing at home against the Bath County Chargers at 6:30 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Pendleton County's offense. They fell 5-0 to Tygarts Valley on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Bath County came into Tuesday's game having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Parry McCluer on Tuesday, sneaking past 2-1.

Bath County's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was O Perdue, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Pendleton County's loss dropped their record down to 8-14. As for Bath County, their victory bumped their record up to 4-8.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Pendleton County has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Bath County struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.1 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.

Pendleton County was able to grind out a solid win over Bath County in their previous meeting back in March, winning 11-6. Do the Wildcat have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Chargers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
