Basketball Game Preview: Lovejoy Leopards vs. Melissa Cardinals

The Lovejoy Leopards will head out to square off against the Melissa Cardinals at 2:45 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Lovejoy picked up another tournament win on Saturday. They walked away with a 70-57 victory over Berkner. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Leopards.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Melissa faced off against Mt. Pleasant on Saturday. Melissa came out on top against Mt. Pleasant by a score of 68-61.

Melissa is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.2 points per game. As for Lovejoy, their win bumped their record up to 15-5.

Lovejoy might still be hurting after the 60-40 loss they got from Melissa in their previous matchup back in February. Can Lovejoy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
