Soccer Game Preview: Greely vs. Cape Elizabeth

The Greely Rangers will square off against the Cape Elizabeth Capers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Greely will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.

Greely's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 6-0 margin over Gray-New Gloucester. Considering Greely have won seven contests by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, while Cape Elizabeth scored more goals than they have all season, the final result was a bit underwhelming. Neither they nor Traip could gain the upper hand on Friday so the two teams had to settle for a 4-4 draw. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for Cape Elizabeth's offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

Cape Elizabeth's draw gives them a new season record of 2-4-2. As for Greely, their win bumped their record up to 10-1.
