Halifax County had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Monday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Chatham Cavaliers an 11-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Comets, who have now won four matchups by ten runs or more so far this season.

Halifax County's record now sits at 9-3. As for Chatham, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Halifax County will head out to take on George Washington at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Chatham, they will venture away from home to face off against Dan River at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Cavaliers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 7.6 runs per game this season.
