Soccer Game Preview: Riverside vs. Ysleta

The Riverside Rangers will head out to take on the Ysleta Indians at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Riverside took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They never let Fabens onto the board and left with a 2-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Rangers in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won seven in a row.

Meanwhile, Ysleta hadn't done well against San Elizario recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Ysleta sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 victory over San Elizario. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but the Indians were the better team in the second half.

Their one-goal win came courtesy of Daniel Torres, who's now up to three this season.

Riverside's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 18 goals over those four games. As for Ysleta, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-5.
