Volleyball Recap: Wellington Finds Playoff Glory Versus Palm Beach Central

With a playoff win on the line, Wellington rose to the challenge on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Palm Beach Central Broncos as they made off with a 3-0 win. This was a revenge game for the Wolverines: when they faced off against the Broncos back in March, they had to take a 3-1 defeat.

Wellington's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Nico Martinez led the charge by getting seven digs and two aces. Martinez has been hot, having also posted 15 or more assists the last six times he's played. Ryan Rojas was another key player, getting 17 assists and seven digs.

Wellington is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-13 record this season. As for Palm Beach Central, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-5.

Looking ahead, Wellington will square off against Seminole Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Hawks will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Wolverines surely won't give up without a fight. Palm Beach Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
