Softball Game Preview: Rye Country Day Wildcats vs. Marymount Lions

The Rye Country Day Wildcats will face off against the Marymount Lions at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.

Rye Country Day's last matchup with King could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's match on Tuesday. The Wildcats lost 19-5 to the Vikings. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Vikings recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Meanwhile, Marymount gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Wednesday. They came out on top against Chapin by a score of 8-5.

Alyssa Holmes made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up five earned runs off 11 hits. Holmes was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four stolen bases, three RBI, and one triple.

In other batting news, Kyra Lindblom was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing seven bases while going 3-for-3. Jade Lindblom was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
