Lake Placid can attribute much of their success to Antranique Felton, who scored 15 points along with 8 rebounds and 3 steals. Taraje Walker was another key contributor, scoring 10 points along with 8 rebounds and 5 steals.
Meanwhile, Moore Haven gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Monday. They snuck past Okeechobee with a 55-51 victory.
Moore Haven can attribute much of their success to Preslynn Baker, who scored 21 points along with 6 rebounds, and Sa'Nyree Myers, who scored 25 points. Another player making a difference was Akeelah Ling, who scored 6 points along with 5 rebounds.
Lake Placid's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Moore Haven, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 1-0.
