Baseball Game Preview: Holmes County Blue Devils vs. North Bay Haven Academy Buccaneers

The Holmes County Blue Devils will head out to challenge the North Bay Haven Academy Buccaneers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Holmes County will be strutting in after a victory while North Bay Haven Academy will be coming in after a defeat.

Holmes County barely beat Liberty County the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Blue Devils blew past the Bulldogs 15-0 on Saturday. Considering the Blue Devils have won 11 matchups by more than six runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, North Bay Haven Academy came up short against Chipley on Friday, falling 16-3. The loss continues a trend for the Buccaneers in their meetings with the Tigers: they've now lost four in a row.

Holmes County pushed their record up to 16-4 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for North Bay Haven Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-10.

Holmes County took their win against North Bay Haven Academy when the teams last played back in March by a conclusive 18-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Blue Devils since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
