Montverde Academy standout chose Ducks over 27 other offers, including Arizona, Auburn and Kentucky.

The battle to land five-star Kwame Evans was filled with twists and turns over the past few months but as he reached the finish line on Tuesday, it was Dana Altman and the Oregon Ducks who were left standing.

A 6-foot-9 forward from Baltimore who ranks No. 7 nationally in the class of 2023 and attends powerhouse Montverde Academy (Montverde, Fla.), Evans enjoyed his visit to Eugene and the fact that Altman was recruiting him personally left an impression on him.

"The visit I took there went well," Evans told 247Sports in late July. "It feels good because he does not usually recruit a lot of players. When he recruits you, it is important because he is looking for you to come in and produce for his program."
