Baseball Recap: Cape Henry Collegiate Victorious

Cape Henry Collegiate's rock-solid pitchers showed up for the team's third consecutive shutout on Friday. They never let the Steward Spartans get on the board and left with a 9-0 win. The Dolphins haven't had any issues with the Spartans recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Colin Lebel made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 11 over six innings pitched. Those 11 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ryan Hummel, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. Wan Chae was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Cape Henry Collegiate kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in five consecutive matchups.

Cape Henry Collegiate's win bumped their record up to 18-9. As for Steward, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 13-10 record.
