Recap: Klein Cain Hurricanes vs. Waller Bulldogs

Even though The Waller Bulldogs scored an imposing 34 points on Friday, the Klein Cain Hurricanes still came out on top. Klein Cain took down Waller 49-34. Given Klein Cain's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 103rd, while Waller is ranked 376th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Klein Cain got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Issac Mooring out in front who rushed for 66 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries, and also threw for 188 yards and a touchdown. Another player making a difference was Darius Rodgers, who rushed for 151 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.6 yards per carry.

Klein Cain's defensive line stepped up as well, laying out the QB five times. Leading the way was Trent Lancaster and his two sacks.

Klein Cain is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. As for Waller, their defeat was their tenth straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 2-7.

Klein Cain will take on Tomball at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Waller, they will head out on the road to face off against Tomball Memorial at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Tomball Memorial focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up four on Thursday.
