Franklin and Grove City are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2016, but likely not for long. The Knights will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against the Eagles at 4:00 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses apiece.

On Monday, Franklin came up short against Hickory and fell 6-2.

Franklin saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Drew Kockler, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, Grove City fell victim to Sharon and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They lost 6-0 to the Tigers. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Eagles' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Grove City's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Franklin, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Franklin might still be hurting after the 18-7 defeat they got from Grove City when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Knights avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
