Volleyball Recap: Troy Trojans vs. Greenville Green Wave
Troy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Greenville Green Wave. The Trojans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Green Wave apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.
Troy was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Greenville work for it, especially in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 27-25, 22-25, 25-17, 22-25, 16-14.
Greenville had a senior duo take command as Sara Loudy had 20 digs and Lily Brubaker had 17 digs and one assist. Those 17 digs set a new season-high mark for Brubaker.
Troy's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Greenville, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 3-3 record this season.
Troy has already played their next matchup (against Butler), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Greenville, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-2 defeat against Xenia on the 26th.
