Football Game Preview: Chester Clippers vs. Penn Wood Patriots

The Chester Clippers will face off against the Penn Wood Patriots at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Chester has eight straight wins, Penn Wood has seven straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Chester is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Interboro: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Clippers blew the Buccaneers out of the water with a 45-12 final score. The result was nothing new for the Clippers, who have now won seven contests by 20 points or more so far this season.

Chester didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Jalen Harris. Another thorn in Interboro's side was Jabrae Davis, who picked up two sacks and made six total tackles (3.0 for loss).

Meanwhile, Penn Wood played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against Jersey Shore, falling 44-20. While losing is never fun, the Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 355th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 86th).

Penn Wood's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Chester, their victory bumped their record up to 8-0.

Everything came up roses for Chester against Penn Wood in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 58-0 win. Do the Clippers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Patriots turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
