Volleyball Recap: Berkeley Takes a Loss

After flying high against Piedmont last Tuesday, Berkeley came back down to earth. The Yellowjackets came up short against the Castro Valley Trojans on Wednesday, falling 3-0. The Yellowjackets have struggled against the Trojans recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

While Berkeley ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 17 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-19, 25-17.

Satchel Room paced Berkeley's offense, picking up ten kills. Room got some help from Sebastian Chen-McDermott and his 17 assists.

Berkeley's loss dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Castro Valley, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 23-9.

Berkeley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-2 win against San Leandro on the 1st. As for Castro Valley, they will take on Bishop O'Dowd at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
