Basketball Recap: Joplin Comes Up Short

Joplin lost against Branson back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Joplin Eagles were outmatched by the Branson Pirates and fell 71-41. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Joplin's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-8. As for Branson, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-7.

Joplin and Branson could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings. Joplin (ranked 128th) will meet Kickapoo (ranked third) at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Branson will take on Carl Junction at 7:00 p.m. on February 4th down 110 places (151 vs. 41).
