River Valley and Michigan Lutheran are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2023, but likely not for long. The Mustangs will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Titans at 4:15 p.m. River Valley has given up an average of 7.2 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

River Valley came into their game on Saturday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 12-1 to Niles.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Michigan Lutheran). They put the hurt on Eau Claire with a sharp 20-1 victory on Tuesday. With that win, the Titans brought their scoring average up to 6.8 runs per game.

The team relied heavily on Ben Liebich, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with six RBI, three runs, and two doubles. That's the most hits he has posted over his last 17 matchups. Another player making a difference was Ty Johnson, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple.

Michigan Lutheran was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .652. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .318 or higher in ten consecutive contests.

River Valley's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-10. As for Michigan Lutheran, the victory got them back to even at 10-10.

River Valley took their win against Michigan Lutheran when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 20-5 score. Will the Mustangs repeat their success, or do the Titans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
