The North Pocono Trojans will square off against the Dallas Mountaineers at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Saturday, North Pocono was able to grind out a solid win over East Stroudsburg South, taking the game 8-4. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Trojans.
Amelia Bell was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over four innings pitched. Bell was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Isabella Forgione, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Riley Grambo, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
North Pocono hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as East Stroudsburg South struck out eight times.
Dallas not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since March 25, 2024. They put the hurt on Greater Nanticoke Area with a sharp 19-3 victory. The Mountaineers have beaten the Trojans the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Trojans has come to flipping the script.
EMMA FOSTOCK was a standout: she scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. JADE SMITH was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
North Pocono's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. Dallas has also opened the season with a perfect 2-0 record.
