Basketball Game Preview: Phoenix Firebirds vs. Homer Trojans

The Phoenix Firebirds will head out to face off against the Homer Trojans at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday.

Phoenix is headed into the match having just suffered their biggest defeat since November 30, 2024 on Tuesday. They lost 53-32 to Cazenovia.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Homer). They were the clear victor by a 54-30 margin over Solvay on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Trojans in their matchups with the Bearcats: they've now won seven in a row.

Phoenix's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Homer, the win got them back to even at 3-3.

Phoenix strolled past Homer in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 by a score of 57-41. The rematch might be a little tougher for Phoenix since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
