Recap: Vassar Vulcans vs. Bad Axe Hatchets
The Vassar Vulcans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their sixth straight loss. They were outmatched by Bad Axe on the road and fell 49-18. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Vassar has scored all season.
Carly Fessler was Vassar's leading scorer, having posted five points.
Natalie Hoerlein took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.
Vassar's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 1-7. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 23.5 points per game. As for Bad Axe, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Vassar will take on Caro at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Caro's defense has only allowed 29.9 points per game this season, so Vassar's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Bad Axe, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Unionville-Sebewaing at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th.
