Oregon State signee led Naperville North to its first regional title in 16 years.

Each year since 2006, MaxPreps has recognized outstanding performers in high school basketball. America's source for high school sports continues the tradition to close out the 2020-21 season by naming the top player in each state. Selections are based on team success and individual excellence, in addition to local and state accolades.

Greta Kampschroeder of Naperville North (Naperville) is the 2020-21 MaxPreps Illinois High School Girls Basketball Player of the Year. In a shortened season, the 6-foot-1 senior guard led the Huskies to a 12-1 record and the school's first regional title since 2005.

Kampschroeder averaged 17.8 points, 10.1 rebounds, 3.0 steals and 3.0 assists while shooting 89.7 percent from the free throw line. She is a four-time all-league selection, three-time all-stater and finished her career with 1,745 points.

Prospect Nation's No. 23 player in the Class of 2021, Kampschroeder is headed to Oregon State next season and was named a McDonald's All-American earlier this year.

Each state's MaxPreps Player of the Year will be considered for inclusion in the MaxPreps All-America Team.
