Softball Recap: Cowanesque Valley Takes a Loss

Cowanesque Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Northern Potter Panthers. The Indians were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Lilah LaBarron spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on five hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.

Cowanesque Valley's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Northern Potter, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.

Cowanesque Valley will head out on the road to square off against Wellsville at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lions will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Indians surely won't give up without a fight. As for Northern Potter, they will be playing at home against Johnsonburg at 4:30 p.m. on the 25th.
