Football Recap: Hall Comes Up Short Despite Will Remington's Big Defensive Game

Hall lost against Southington back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Titans took a 36-30 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Blue Knights. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since October 1, 2021, but that streak is no more.

Despite the loss, Hall still got an impressive performance from Tommy Hussey, who threw for 159 yards and three TDs, and also rushed for 66 yards. Speaking of playmakers, who could forget Spencer Zazzaro, who went all the way with a kickoff return for a touchdown.

Even if they lost, Hall's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. In that department, Will Remington was the leader with two. He also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with six. Another thorn in Southington's side was Carlos Nunez, who forced one fumble and made ten total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Special teams played a big role in the game for Hall, adding 12 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Zazzaro, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Southington found their leader in sophomore Jacoby Roman, who threw for 156 yards and three touchdowns, and also punched in one score on the ground.

Hall's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Southington, the win also got them back to even at 2-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Hall will challenge Bristol Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Titans will be up against the Rams' rather soft defense (which has allowed 36.25 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Southington, they will face off against New Britain at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
