Preview: Wakefield Bombers vs. Blue Valley Rams
Wakefield is 1-8 against Blue Valley since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. Both teams will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Wakefield focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Friday.
Wakefield can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game. They enjoyed a cozy 40-22 win over Centre. The win was just what Wakefield needed coming off of a 52-20 defeat in their prior matchup.
It was another big night for Allison Adams, who dropped a triple-double on 17 points, 14 rebounds, and 11 steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Emily Huehl, who scored eight points along with two steals.
Blue Valley posted their closest win yet this season on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Onaga 46-44. The victory was just what Blue Valley needed coming off of a 60-37 loss in their prior game.
Wakefield's win ended a seven-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-6. As for Blue Valley, their win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-6.
Wakefield might still be hurting after the 53-33 defeat they got from Blue Valley in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Can Wakefield avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
