Basketball Game Preview: Woodsboro Eagles vs. Kenedy Lions

Woodsboro and Kenedy are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The Woodsboro Eagles will challenge the Kenedy Lions at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with nine defeats in a row, Woodsboro turned things around against Three Rivers on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 39-19 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Eagles have posted since November 9, 2024.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Kenedy beat Pettus 56-50 on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Lions.

Woodsboro's victory ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-19. As for Kenedy, their record now sits at 10-11.

Woodsboro ended up a good deal behind Kenedy in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, losing 53-35. Can Woodsboro avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
