Baseball Game Preview: Crosspoint Christian vs. Central Missouri HomeSchool Saints

Crosspoint Christian will head out on the road to square off against the Central Missouri HomeSchool Saints at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Crosspoint Christian came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Non Varsity Opponent, falling 14-7. Crosspoint Christian has struggled against Non Varsity Opponent recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Payton Lauth was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. Lauth was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played dating back to last season.

In other batting news, Cody Sanders made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Central Missouri HomeSchool unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost 20-5 to Christian Fellowship last Tuesday. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it five in a row.
